Project 21 is an innovative new program being offered at Forest Heights that seeks to connect students from our school with students at other schools around the globe. Students will have the opportunity to work on project-based learning with these students in a variety of curriculum areas. One of the main goals of this program is to allow students to develop skills that will be useful for them in their future lives: observational, technological, organizational, socio-cultural and critical thinking skills, to name a few.
This project work will not be completed outside the regular course work but will be integrated into the courses the student is currently taking. It provides another avenue for students to become engaged with school and meet the necessary curriculum outcomes. The ultimate goal of Project 21 is for students to create real-life learning experiences through the development of projects that seek to explore and discover the answers to questions raised by the students’ own curiosity. Currently, Forest Heights students are working on projects with students in Oman, China and Alabama, USA.
