Program Support @ FHCS
2010/2011
Program Support at FHCS is a team of people who work with students, parents, staff and other professionals to create a supportive school environment which benefits our school community and its members.
At FHCS, we have two centers to support the diverse needs of our students. Each center has a full time teacher and our department presently has eight Program Support Assistants.

Miss Welsford’s room offers support and programming for students with intensive learning needs. The goal of the Learning Centre is to increase students independence and to help them become contributing members of society. Some of Miss Welsford’s students attend classes, while others benefit from basing their learning out of the Learning Centre.
Resource Centre (Click here to go to the Resource Centre site.)
Mrs. Bird’s room offers positive, effective, behaviour supports in addition to program supports. A wide range of services are available to students with specific learning needs and social and behavioural issues. Many students in Mrs. Bird’s room are receiving direct instruction for a variety of purposes while others are utilizing the room to work independently.
